The three years NanoReMedi-EJD stems from six Doctoral Courses/Schools at the six beneficiary institutions providing research and training in the field of nanoscience. All PhDs courses are accredited and evaluated on a regular basis by internal evaluation boards or external certified bodies.
Two secondments are planned for each DC to acquire research or complementary training in nanomaterials that are not provided at the home institution:
a secondment at one of the academic beneficiaries awarding the doctoral degree (9 months)
a secondment at one industrial partner (3 months depending on their core specialization)
Additional training events will be hosted in turn by each Beneficiary at Network Meetings and released jointly with the partner organizations. Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary events will be organized on topics of relevance for NanoReMedy, and on selected subjects/skills necessary to complement DCs’ knowledge.
The representatives of academic and non-academic partners have already defined the skills that will be acquired by each DC. In line with the policy suggested by the EC DG-Education and Culture, the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) will be adopted as an instrument for creating transparency in academic performance. 60 ECTS per year will be assigned to researcher trainees as detailed here below.
